For GetaRental, drivers must be between 21 and 65 years old and hold a full, valid driver’s license, as learner’s or restricted licenses are not accepted. If an international driver’s permit is needed, GetaRental can provide one for a fee of $21 Tala. The license must also permit the driver to operate the specific category of vehicle being rented.

For GetaRental:
The main driver must present the following items, all in their own name:
- A valid ID card or passport
- A credit card with sufficient funds to cover the deposit for the vehicle
- A full, valid driver’s license (no learner or restricted licenses accepted)
**Additional Driver**:
- An additional driver can be added for $10 WST per day, with a maximum charge of 5 days ($50 WST total).
- You can add an additional driver either at the time of booking or when you pick up the vehicle -
For the GetaRental vehicle pick-up process, ensure you have your booking confirmation with details of the rental, including the prearranged pick-up location and time. If changes are needed, contact us in advance. Vehicles can be picked up at our Vaimea Main Office Depot, Faleolo International Airport, Fagalii Airport, or any hotel in Upolu, with staff meeting you at airports or coordinating directly for hotel pick-ups. Bring a valid full driver’s license and the credit card used for booking. A temporary Samoa driver’s license can be issued for a $21 WST fee if required. Together with our staff, inspect the vehicle for any existing damage and fuel level, with all details recorded and signed off. Outstanding payments, including insurance or rental fees, will be collected, and a $500 WST security deposit will be held on your credit card, refundable upon returning the vehicle in good condition. Finally, you will receive the keys and instructions on the vehicle’s features and fuel policies, and we will confirm any prearranged drop-off service.

For the GetaRental vehicle drop-off process, you can return the vehicle to the Vaimea Main Office Depot, Faleolo International Airport, Fagalii Airport, or any hotel in Upolu. If returning to a different location, please prearrange this to avoid additional fees. Upon return, our staff will inspect the vehicle for damage, cleanliness, and fuel level. The vehicle should be as clean as when you picked it up, with the same fuel level; failure to meet these conditions may result in additional fees. A refueling fee of $35 WST plus the cost per litre will apply if the fuel level is lower, and a $65 WST cleaning fee will apply if the vehicle is excessively dirty. Stained seats or carpets will incur a $300 WST deep cleaning fee. Any damage will be assessed based on your insurance coverage. Return the keys to our staff or the designated drop-off point; lost keys will incur an $850 WST fee. Once the vehicle passes inspection and all dues are settled, the security deposit will be refunded to your credit card.

When the unexpected happens during your GetaRental experience in Upolu, such as a flat tire or dead battery, ensure your safety by moving to a secure location. Contact our support team during our operating hours, Monday to Saturday from 8 am to 5 pm. Please note that we do not provide 24-hour service, and call-out fees may apply for roadside assistance. If you're able to change a flat tire safely, you may do so; otherwise, we can provide assistance within our operating hours. For other issues like dead batteries or mechanical problems, we’ll send help as needed. In case of damage or accidents, document the situation, inform us immediately, and follow our instructions for a smooth resolution.

At GetaRental, we offer two levels of insurance coverage to provide peace of mind during your rental. Our Standard Insurance is available for $30 WST per day and comes with a $1000 Tala excess, meaning you'll have to pay up to $1000 Tala for damages. Insurance will cover the rest. For more comprehensive coverage, we offer Full Insurance at $50 WST per day with zero excess, so no out-of-pocket costs in case of damage. Insurance is mandatory for all rentals, ensuring that you and the vehicle are protected throughout your trip. Any damages will be assessed upon return, and charges will be applied according to your selected insurance coverage.

At GetaRental, we require a security deposit, also known as a bond of up to $500 WST, depending on the vehicle. This deposit is held on your credit card at the time of pick-up and is fully refundable, provided the vehicle is returned in the same condition as when it was rented. The deposit covers any potential damages or extra charges, such as refueling or cleaning fees. While a physical inspection will be conducted at the time of drop-off, a more detailed mechanical check may be performed by our team after a test drive. If any mechanical issues or damages are discovered, we will communicate them to you, and charges may be applied to your card at a later date. Rest assured, once the vehicle passes all checks and no additional charges are needed, your security deposit will be refunded.

Our vehicles are available for a minimum rental period of 3 days, designed to provide you with ample time to enjoy your journey at your own pace. This policy helps us ensure a consistent level of service and availability across our fleet. Whether you're exploring the island or simply need a vehicle for your stay, we believe this minimum period offers the perfect balance of flexibility and convenience. Please note, bookings for less than 3 days cannot be accommodated.

Our Vaimea Main Depot is conveniently located for vehicle pick-up and drop-off. Customers can also pre-arrange pick-up and drop-off service to Faleolo International Airport, Fagalii Airport, or hotels in Upolu for an additional fee.
